About P3 in Person
The SVSD Parent Partnership Program is an Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) program that offers two options for students. Students may opt for our “in-person” model where students attend two days per week or a fully online model where students work on classes using an online platform. We started in 2012 with a handful of students and have grown to 200 students (120 in-person) and eight certified teachers across K-12. In 2023, we even launched our own Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)!
The Parent Partnership In-Person program is a unique K-12 school within SVSD that combines the flexibility of parent-led instruction with the structure and support of public school. P3 students experience a combination of core classes taught by district teachers which complement classes at home directed by parents. Students attend two days each week.
Student learning plans, focused on individual needs, are created collaboratively by the certificated teacher and family. By focusing on each child’s progress, the learning plans detail a unique learning roadmap for the school year. Parents ensure students spend 27.75 hours per week doing learning activities that reflect subjects (“classes”) outlined in their Written Student Learning Plan. This includes both time in the classroom and at home, using structured curriculum and informal learning activities. Parents are responsible for regular communication with teachers, including submitting monthly progress reports.
At P3, families can find resources and a learning community to support their individual school journey. From curriculum materials and guidance to engaging classes for students in grades K-10, P3 offers families a partnership in their student’s education.
